On-Page Optimization


Title Tag

Give titles to the webpage which is relevant to the content, it is critical for both user experience and search engine optimization.

Length

Search engines display only the first 65 to 75 characters of the title tag, so it is important to place the keyword close to the front, which helps in page ranking and easy for first user’s interaction.

META TAGS

Meta tags are like a metadata of the website, which contains information about website content.





Index/noindex

By default, all pages in the website is valued as “index” by search engine. But by making the value as “noindex”, you can tell the search engine that the page should not be crawled.

follow/nofollow

All pages are assumed be in “follow” attribute by default. By changing attribute to “nofollow” you can tell the search engine not to crawl the links on the page.

noarchive

It is used to stop saving searched copy of the page by search engines.

Meta Description

It is a short description about the page. Even though  search engines do not use the keywords from meta description  for page ranking, it is used to draw readers


And meta description more than 160 characters will not show in search engine results.
